Diana McDonough, President

Diana has worked for 30 years as an attorney for pubic school districts.  She has two children, three other children by marriage, and eight grandchildren.  Her special interest is the education of girls.

Kate Parnes, Vice President

Kate has worked as a public school administrator for 35 years.  She has three children.  Her career has focused on quality education for children with disabilities. 

Sandy Piotter, Secretary

After 15 years as a community volunteer, Sandy re-entered the field of education as a high school administrator.  She has two children and four grandchildren.  Social justice and community activism have been her hallmarks and drew her into Global Grandmothers.

Pamela Ptacek Blatt, Treasurer

Pamela has worked as a speech/language pathologist and special education administrator.  Her career started in 1971.  She is retired but continues her work with school districts as a special education consultant. She has two children and one grandson.

Shirley Caine

Recently retired from a 40 year career in early childhood education, Shirley was inspired by Diana’s concept of Global Grandmothers.  Shirley is married with two married sons and one grandson.  A passion for quilting keeps her making baby blankets for friends and family.

Leni von Blanckensee

Leni recently retired after 37 years as a teacher, consultant, "school reform coach", and district administrator. She is married with two daughters and two granddaughters.  She continues to volunteer in schools and work for organizations that support children.




In addition to our board members we have enlisted several advisors. They are the people behind the scenes keep the website current, developing marketing strategies, and providing expertise in various disciplines.
